November 22nd. 2003

We have been great fans of the US MS’s for a long time. It is definitely the US bloodlines in Dustin that has given a more elegant and modern MS type.

As Carsten was going to Las Vegas to meet with a breeder there, he decided to make a stopover at a dog show. Due to the special point system as well as the professional handler scene in the States, most shows have very few participants. But when I was going a long way I wanted a show with as high a number of MS’s as possible. After researching on the Internet for a while, I decided on the 2 day AKC all-breed show in Katy, Texas, just outside of Houston.

The show had 25 MS’s (which is a relatively high number “over there” even though it is the total of all colors).

The visit there had several purposes. To see a show in general, to see professional handling, to see the quality level of US MS’s in person and to hopefully meet and talk to some US breeders.

One day I will write a longer story of my views on the US scene, but I will not pass judgment based on a single show event, so it will be some time in the future. But just to give you a headline, I can conclude that I in general prefer the European system, which is more spectator friendly and where most dogs are shown by the owners or are at least breeder handled. At least the Northern European events are a lot more fun, where it is still competitive, but also very much a social event, where you meet and hang out with friends with the same obsession.

In the US most dogs are handled by professional handlers and they have a hard job to do, and does not have very much time for socializing.

No critiques are given, and no classifications either, just placement, which, in my “humble” opinion gives you a less chance to get a judges opinion on a breed result.

On the other hand, the point system makes it harder for you to get a championship, which is good.

At this show the quality of the dogs varied a lot. I saw the most beautiful bitch I have seen in my life (even though she was the “wrong color”) and even though she also loved me, her owner/breeder wouldn’t let me take her back home (still crying Bolivia J ), and there was another 2 bitches and 2 dogs of excellent quality. And then there was quite a gap down to the rest of them, so it was a mixed experience. But hey, maybe it is like that everywhere, and I just haven’t noticed it yet.

I want to thank Hilde Haakansen from Kennel Bånn-Gass and Bolivia from Kennel Terjas for taking care of me and showing me the ropes J in Texas, and also the rest of you for making me feel welcome even though you were all busy.

I took a lot of pictures at the show, which you can see here, it was my first time with my new camera, so the quality varies a lot. Please note that you can change the size of the pictures for viewing if you do not have broadband, as the sizes are quite big in the original formats.

See if you can spot the most beautiful bitch in the world on the pictures.

After a nice weekend in Texas, I went to Las Vegas to talk to a breeder about one of her dogs, which I consider to be one of the best B/S ever. But I will have to get back to you on that later. I might have some very great news to tell, but it will have to wait.

(Oh and by the way, if anybody from my work reads this, I also managed to do a little work when I was there. In fact that was why I went in the first place J J, right?? Nobody goes to Las Vegas just for fun and dogs, Right??? Right??? Why are you looking at me like that??? J J)

February 22nd. 2004

Today was a big day for us. For the first time ever, a puppy, or rather
2 puppies after Dustin was going to their first show.

It was in Hässleholm, Sweden, which is the 2nd. largest
puppy show in the country.

The two puppies were Lejacks Dustin’s Tro “Tro” and
Lejacks Dustin’s Hopp “Hopp”. A boy and a girl.
As expected there was a lot of competition, and we were more
nervous than when we show our own dogs, even though we
were just spectators.
Lena (the puppies breeder) had “reassured” us that Tro (the boy)
was so good that he was sure to win!!!!,
Yeah right we all think our own dog is best ;-).

Their debut went great, Tro was best male puppy and
Hopp best bitch. And we were happier than when Dustin wins a title.
It is such a great thrill to see a beautiful puppy, and know that one
of the dogs you own and love, are the father of that;-).
Then on to the BOB. Against all odds the girl Hopp won the BOB
and Tro the BOS.A fantastic day, two fantastic puppies and a lot
of promise for the future.

This day showed us, that in the future we will enjoy the shows even more,
now that puppies after our dogs will start to be in many of the shows.

March  7th. 2004

Finally an update :-)
We are sorry that it’s took so long since that last update, but so much have been happening for us since the last update in the beginning of November.

We decided to put up individual news flashes on their original date, so anything you see in this news section between Nov 2nd.  and now, has been put on the site today.
But here are the headlines.
Dustin was BOB in Amsterdam and gained the title of Winner Amsterdam 03.

He is now also officially “Best Swedish B/S 2003” in the Swedish Miniature Schnauzer Club.

At the first show this year, Dustin was finally old enough to become Swedish Champion, and I went as we hoped for, so he became BOB and Swedish Champion, and as he already gained the titles of Danish and Norwegian Champion, he is now also Nordic Champion.

This last 6-7 month has been incredible for Dustin. He now has 9 titles to his name.

As we wrote in November, Carsten has been in the US, to see the show-scene and the dogs there. But he also went with a special thing in mind. To meet with the breeder of one of the finest representatives this breed has ever seen. This dog has, even though he is not exactly a puppy anymore, been the “dream” dog for Carsten, for quite a while. And through a very good friend and a very nice breeder, the dream came through, so “Phantom” is now a part of the SchnauzerJoy family, at least for a while, read more about it below.

Another very important event for us was the arrival of “Charlie” Hassanhill’s Pilgrim To SchnauzerJoy, who is our new baby. He is a wonderful dog, and the future will tell if he will also succeed in the show-rings in the future, but he has already won all of our hearts.

Dustin’s first puppies from Kennel LeJacks, “Hopp” & “Tro” has already had their first BOB and BOS at one of the largest puppy shows. That was even more fun, that when he wins himself ;-).

A puppy from Dustin’s breeding in Denmark with the lovely “Ronja” from Nero-Argento is now also a part of the SchnauzerJoy Family. Her name is “Donna” and lives with Carsten’s Mom & Dad in Denmark, and will be joining us at the shows.

All the above-mentioned dogs will get their own space here at SchnauzerJoy.

More litters are on the way from our beautiful dogs, and we will keep you informed here of news of them.

We also got a new Motor Home or SchnauzerMobile as it is known here, so that the dogs and us can travel in style to the shows and other events.

We are in the process of planning the show schedule for this year and hope to put it online when we have it ready. We are looking forward to seeing you all again out there.

During the winter a new program for handling all the links have been programmed for us. We already have the largest collection of Miniature Schnauzer links on the Internet, but we have hundreds more waiting to be added, so we needed a better tool for managing them. We are in the progress of adding them now, and the Links Portal will get a new look, with better facilities and loads more links soon. Be sure to write at least once in our guest book, then you can be sure to receive a mail from us, when we do a major update like that one.

So as you can see, we have been too busy to keep the site updated, but will try to get back in the old routine of updating at least once a week, when something happens.

We also hope that you will drop a note in our Guestbook to tell us how your winter has been. We deeply appreciate these greeting from you all.

Make sure to read the news below, at least from Nov. 2nd. until now, as they have all been put up today

P.S. If you know of an outstanding B/S bitch puppy or adult for sale, please feel free to contact us J.

December 6th. 2003

This week we went to Amsterdam. The show was the
All-breed International Winner Show, Winner Amsterdam 03.
This was the first show for Dustin as an “adult” outside of
Scandinavia. We soon realized that we had taken on a big
mouthful. This show gives you a double Dutch CAC,
which along with the official title makes this a very
attractive show. So you can imagine that the competition
was though.

In Holland they have a different system than we do in
Scandinavia. You do not get a start time for your breed.
Everyone has to be in place and ready to enter the ring as the
first dog at 9AM. As a groom breed this can be quite stressful, as it is hard to fix your dog at the hotel an hour before you go into the ring.

Be hey, when in Rome……
I guess the reason for this is that it ensures that you have a very big crowd from early in the morning, but it also creates parking chaos, long lines at registration and at the vet.
The area around the ring also gets crowded, but people somehow manage anyway
We showed up at 7.30AM, fought for a parking space, stressed at the register and the vet, muzzled our way to a spot at ringside, put up all of our stuff, and started grooming Dustin, just to find out that our ring time would be around 3PM L.
But that gave us time to look around and Dustin got a chance to walk off the tension in peace and quiet.
The first thing we noticed was that Dustin looked a bit out of place. All the others Black & Silver was VERY white in the Silver as opposed to Dustin who is Silver and even dark silver in the beard. And it was a Dutch judge, so our confidence fell quite a bit. But since we had traveled so far, we might as well stay J.  So I walked around the bit with Dustin to greet a couple of familiar faces. Then suddenly a woman stopped me and asked what dog Dustin was, and I replied that he is a MS. Then she got a bit offended and said that she knew the breed, but wanted to know where he was from. When I told her Hassanhill’s she lit up in a smile and said, “I knew it, I could see it was one from my dogs”. That puzzled me, but she presented herself as Vera Van Wassenhove from Kennel Art Deco. Then we understood. (Dustin’s father is Art Deco Uncle Sam. We were very happy to meet Vera and her boyfriend Hakan, as we know how much of the things we love about Dustin originate from Vera’s dogs. We also loved the fact that Vera, out of the blue, recognized that a dog was from her lines, even though she had never seen him before. Vera helped raise our confidence again as she said that the judge of the day would recognize a good MS when he saw it and that our chances were good. She also helped with the finishing touches before we went into the ring.
The judge Mr. Kessel NL made us very happy in the ring J. He said that the color was not the best he had seen (se above), but that he was one of the best MS he had ever seen, so that he was his Best Male and later BOB. Which got Dustin the double CAC and the title of Winner Amsterdam 03. This was undoubtedly our best win so far. We did not expect it at all, so it was a GREAT drive home J.
A special thanks to Vera and Hakan for all the help and encouragement.
All in all a great show and a great day in Amsterdam.

February 21. 2004

At the general assembly of the Swedish Miniature Schnauzer Club,
Dustin was officially named as the Swedish B/S of the year.

We are very proud of this title, as it was one of the major goals
of the 2003 season. What made it especially great, was that he got the
same title in the Danish Club, and it is, if not the only, then one of the
few times where a MS obtains this title in two countries in the same year,
as you have to be the most winning dog, over the whole season to win this title.

Thanks so much to all of you who have helped throughout the year.

February 3rd. 2004

Today is a very important day in our “dog life”. It is now official. One of the best representatives of our fantastic breed ever worldwide is now in our care. After long research, work, “negotiations”, considerations etc. he is finally in Scandinavia.

The dog is “Phantom” or Enjoy’s Phantom of the Opera
from Joan Shreves Kennel Enjoy’s in Las Vegas.
Phantom is now 7 years old and has a fantastic
show and stud record.

He has more than 250 BOB, more than 80 Group Placements,
BIS at All-Breed show and is the first (only) non-pepper/salt
to win at Montgomery.

He has more than 20-30 champions off springs,
whereof many are simply outstanding.

As we love Dustin endlessly, it is hard to see any other dogs that are as good, not to say better, than him.
But Phantom has stunned us since the day we saw his picture for the first time. He truly is fantastic.
We first started to try to find a good puppy after him, but then realized that a very dear friend of us,
Tony Schultheiss from Kennel Barba Nigra, had very good contact with Phantoms breeder as she has a beautiful dog from her (Enjoy’s Midnight Welcome Matt). With Tony’s help we got “a foot in the door” with Joan. To make a long story very short (read more about it on Phantoms own page here at SchnauzerJoy, it will be up shortly) we made an agreement with Joan that Phantom would come and stay here with us for the next two years.

We had to go through a lot of convincing, (Carsten flew over to Joan in Las Vegas) and a lot of research. The research was necessary due to rumours.
Any dog that is as outstanding as Phantom, will be the target for vicious rumours. The reasons for these are various. It is normally jealousy, envy, ignorance etc. that cause this or simply listening to the wrong person, but as one of our main reasons for bringing Phantom here, was to use him in our breeding, we had to make sure that they were just rumours as opposed to true.
We spend month corresponding with leading veterinarians, scientists, breeders etc. and finally could conclude that the rumours were 100% untrue, as a matter of fact they were not only untrue, they were lies that could be proven to be lies. 100% of the experts we talked to all agreed completely, so we could move forward with full confidence.

Due to the Swedish import rules he will stay in Denmark with our friend Lene Brevadt until, May 1st.  were he will finally be part of the pack here.
Phantom is here to enjoy life, and to make us enjoy him. He has had an unbeatable show career so we do not see much point in showing him anymore. So he will be here as a family dog and of course we will use him in breeding.
We cannot wait to own a puppy after this fantastic dog
It is hard to understand that we have so outstanding dogs under the same roof, and it is hard to explain the joy of seeing dogs like Dustin and Phantom running around together everyday, we hope that May 1st. comes quickly this year.
We cannot thank Joan, Tony, Lene and the rest of you who have helped make this possible, enough, and a special thanks to JJ (Joan’s daughter who owns Phantom) and her family in wonderful Napa Valley.
You will see much more about Phantom as soon as his own page is up and running.

February 13th. 2004

As those of you that know us or have followed us through the website, you know that we bought a caravan a while back, basically because we are going to a lot of shows with Dustin.
As the number of dogs in the family is increasing rapidly,
as well as the number of the planned show events,
we had been talking about getting a Motor Home for a while.
The thought of starting the weekend as soon as we got into the “car”,
instead of until we had arrived and found a camping and put up the tent etc.,
was very appealing to us.

Today we got it. A brand new Italian Motor Home from Autoroller.
It is around 7 meters long, and we can sit 8 people while driving,
and 7 can sleep in it. We can now park right outside the shows and
the dogs that do not attend the show can stay in it, and so can other
family members that would rather do something else than be at the show.

We are already using it in the weekends and are so pleased with it, so we
are really looking forward to the spring. P.S. The name of the vehicle is of course “SchnauzerMobile” now ;-).

December 14th. 2003

After the fantastic show in Amsterdam, we kind of felt that this was it for the season, but because Dustin was part of a “Breeder’s Group” with Kennel Hassanhill’s at the last show in Stockholm, Sweden, we decided to go anyway.
It is the largest dog show in Sweden and this year it had the title of “Nordic Winner 03” up for grabs. But the judge was from South America, so we had no idea what to expect. The show was as always large and very well organized. The B/S group was large and consisted of most of the top show dogs in Sweden and a few more countries.
Dustin’s winning streak was broken. He became 2nd. best male so it was kind of ok. J, but on this day he lost to his Uncle, Hassanhill’s Dangerous “Simon” from Kennel Funflash, who was in such a show mood this day. He was almost radiant as opposed to Dustin and Carsten who looked like they had gone on Christmas holiday already J. Simon was showing up like a million bucks. Guess he had missed the show rings. So there was no way of beating him on this day, so he got a well-earned BOB.

February 1st. 2004

A new member has been added to the SchnauzerJoy family. She is the first female MS to join, and to the boys disappointment she is living with Carsten’s mother and father in Denmark.

Her name is Nero Argento’s Una Donna “Donna” and is from very good pedigree
J.

She is the combination of the two “Guldhund” “Golden dogs” male/female 03 in Denmark, namely Dustin and Nero Argento’s Hallo Donna Graziosa “Ronja”.
When Donna grows up a bit, she will be part of our “show tour” and hopefully be part of some interesting breeding in the future. You can see more about Donna here. Donna will also get her own page here on SchnauzerJoy in the future.
Donna has already charmed her family to death.

February 14th. 2004

Dustin was finally 2 years old, and had the age to become Swedish Champion.
It felt a bit strange that he had won all these titles, but was still not a Champ of Sweden. But now we had the first chance.
We went to the International All-Breed show in Gothenburg, Sweden. The judge was Wilfried Peper.
We were up against a strong field of 28 Black & Silver MS’s.
We knew we would get a lot more chances, but as he already has so many Swedish CAC’s it would be fun to get the Championship on the first show where he had the age.
And it went very well. The judge loved Dustin and made him BOB. This meant that Dustin was awarded the title of Swedish Champion, and as he is already Danish and Norwegian Champion, he is also eligible for the title of Nordic Champion.
So we had a great day, besides the time, when we heard that Michelle was missing ;-(, but she was luckily found again, and when we got the first parking ticket on the SchnauzerMobile on the second day we had it.

P.S. Thanks to Gothenburg City for cancelling the parking ticket :-))

November 29th. 2003

Ever since we got Dustin, we have been interested in another puppy from Corinne & Bo (Hassanhill’s). We have especially been interested in a puppy after Dustin’s father’s sister Art Deco Usbunny. We were in line for one a year ago, but unfortunately she only got one, which Corinne & Bo of course kept for them selves. The next and last breeding with her was done in August with a Spanish import Zerberus De Lordship’s. She gave birth to 2 girls and one boy on October 4th. We had to wait another 7 week for Corinne’s call regarding whether they thought the boy was right for us. Luckily they did J. So we went the 700km to pick up Hassanhill’s Pilgrim To SchnauzerJoy “Charlie”. Charlie is a different type than Dustin. He has longer legs, but is also extremely short. His colors and coat are fantastic. His temperament is just as we like it, cheeky and self-confident. He has already taken the family by storm. We drove the 7 hours where he basically slept the whole way in Helle’s lap and didn’t make one sound of discontent. When we got to the house, this little 8 weeks puppy were met by Dustin, Albert and Zena, rushing like the Mongolian hoards towards him. He stood up and stretched himself and confidently started barking at them. Not in fear or nervousness, but to tell them that he claimed the spot as lead dog from the get-go. They all stopped in midair out of pure confusion and since then he has continued his quest for leadership. But they all love to play with him, and if one rejects, he just moves on to the next one. He is so well adapeted into the growing flock and he holds great promise for the future. He is expected to have his show debut in Stockholm in April, so we will see how he develops. You can see more of Charlie on his own page.

A new title!!

We went to Denmark this weekend for the last show there.
It was the International All Breed show in Herning.
I also had a chance for another title here.
There was a lot of competition with some of the best dogs from
Denmark, Norway and Sweden. I won the Champion Class and
went on to become Best Male and ended up as BOS.

This was enough for me to earn the title of Breed Winner 03
(DKK Race vinder 03), which is for the most winning B/S in Denmark
on the International shows.

We had a great time as many of our friends and “competitors” were there, and we invited everyone for a little champagne, to celebrate my titles in Denmark this year.
It has gone way beyond our expectations. I have won all the 4 titles that were possible to win in Denmark this year: Danish Champion, Copenhagen Winner (KBHV-03), Breed Winner 03 (DKKV03) and Guldhund 03 (most winning B/S on the specialities).
Again I would like to thank everyone for their help and support in Denmark, you have all been great.

Carsten is going to the All Breed show in Houston, Texas, next weekend, to see how things are done “over there”. It will be interesting to see how US grooming and handling is done, and especially see the standard of the Miniature Schnauzers over there. He also hopes to make a few connections with MS breeders, as he keeps talking about getting a US import at some time.

I just have one comment: If I am to get a new brother or sister from the US, he/she has better learn to speak “Dog Swedish” quickly!!!!

I also thought that my winter break was coming up, but an extra show was just squeezed in to the schedule, so it seems like we are going for the Amsterdam Winner show in Holland in December as well, it will be interesting, as there will probably be a lot of new dogs which we have never seen before.

I still am not sure if I am coming to Hamar, Norway, but it looks like it, but we will se how the weather is when we get closer.

Two new titles!!

The show season is getting towards an end here.
But I have been to a couple of shows since my last newsflash.

On September 18th. I was at the International Copenhagen
Winner title show in Ballerup, Denmark. I ended up as BOS
and received the title of Copenhagen Winner 03
(Københavns Vinder 03).

Yesterday we were at the last speciality show in Denmark to finish off the season here and the race for Guldhund 03 (Golden Dog 03), which is the title for the most winning dog of the year.

Again I ended up as BOS and am now officially the most winning B/S in Denmark for the year of 2003 J. This was my 4th title in about two months, so the burgers got switched for Sirloin steak at a family gathering instead

As things have been going well for me at the shows
early this year, we decided to compete for the
“most winning” title in 2 countries (Denmark and Sweden)
at the same time. Looking back it was quite a big gamble
as we miss a lot of shows this way, as they are often at the
same time. This also meant that there was a big chance that
we would loose out on both of the, but so far the gamble has paid
off.
The Danish title is now “in the bag”, and things are not looking
too bad in Sweden either, but we will have to wait and see.
Unfortunately this meant that I missed the Swedish Winner title show yesterday, but I will have to go for that one next year.

We now have 2-3 shows left this year. We are going to Herning, Denmark for an International show in 3 weeks, and we are going to Stockholm, Sweden in December for the Nordic Winner title show. We are also considering the Norwegian Winner title show in November, but have not decided on that one yet.

I am also now the proud father of my first lovely puppies, and have had other beautiful girls visiting me, as well as a some future dates set up, so I am looking very much forward to seeing all these lovely children grow up.

Helle is considering starting a grooming salon for Schnauzers only, but cannot quite make up her mind. There are already a lot of Miniature owners asking her to do this, so I guess she will have a hard time standing up against the pressure

At least she have gone from “no”, to “pet grooming only, no show trims”, so it is moving in the right direction.

Monday, September 29, 2003

We now have a few weeks “off” from the shows,
but last weekend we went to Ballerup in
Denmark
for the Danish Kennel Clubs International yearly title show
“Københavnsvinner 03” (Copenhagen Winner 03).
It went pretty well, I got BOS and the title for my pedigree ;-).

We had a great weekend there, even the night before ;-).
P.S. Hope the tattoo have stopped hurting, Chottis ;-))))))

My first “Stud” job also worked. I am now the proud daddy to 3 lovely B/S puppies (all sold before they were born) and as I have some more “dates” in the near future. We are all very excited to see these puppies grow up.

My next show is in 2 weeks in
Hårlev, Denmark. Unfortunately this is the same time as the Swedish yearly title show of “Sverigevinner” (Swedish Winner), only an hour from our house, but no matter how hard I try, I can only be in one place at same the time ;-(.

It has been driving Carsten crazy, but I do believe that he has given up on Växjö, so we are off to Denmark that weekend.

Besides this show we only have 3 more, that we might go to this year. It is most likely that we will be going to the title show Hund 2003 in Stockholm in December as it is for the title of “Nordisk vinner 03” (Nordic Winner 03), and we are still considering the “Norsk Vinner 03” (Norwegian winner 2003) in November. The International show in
Herning, Denmark is the only show which we are signed up for, so we will have to see about the others.

Man, what a month!!! Yesterday we went to
SKK National show in Sofiero, Sweden.
This was my sixth show in just a little more than a
month.
It was “Burger-time” again . I got CAC, BOB and BIG-5.
This sums up an incredible Aug/Sep:
6 shows, 5 x BOB, 1 x BOS, 1 x BIS, 1 x BIS-2,
2 x BIG-3 and one BIG-5.
I am especially proud to be placed in the group at
the all breed shows 3 times in a row.
Not exactly something that happens often for a
B/S Miniature Schnauzer.

"Dustin greets the BOS Vicki, which happens to be his halfsister"

Michelle handled “Zena” for the first time in the
“grown-ups” competition with a great result.
“Zena” and Michelle got Ex1, CQ and 4.th. best bitch.
Looks like Carsten is getting some serious “in-family”
handling competition.
Albert stayed at home with Alexander, but of course
I also brought home the BOB McDonalds burger to him

DANISH AND NORWEGIAN CHAMPION.

What a great weekend in Denmark. The Danish Miniature Schnauzer Club had their annual double speciality and trophy show in Blovstrød this weekend.
It was with extra nerves that we traveled to Denmark this weekend.
This was the first time that Dustin could get his first championship titles. In Sweden, where we live, a miniature has to be 24 month old before you can get a Swedish Championship, but in Denmark it is 18 months, and as we have gotten 2 out of the 3 required, this was our first shot at the title.

As we also got our CAC in Norway (where the limit is 15 month), we would get both the Danish as well as the Norwegian title if we got one more Danish CAC, so everyone was quite exited but also very very nervous. As this is also the biggest Miniature event in Denmark, all the great competitors was there, so it would be a though match.
But it went extremly well. On Saturday, Dustin became BOB and BIS-2 and earend the two champion titles under the Judge Patrick Ragnarson, so we opened a couple of bottles af champagne and celebrated with friends and competitors after the show. Boy, did that fell good. It is also great to compete in countries where competitors can celebrate with each others after the shows.
On sunday, the heat was on again. For the first time I was to compete in the champion group. So the nerves were back on, I did not really fell like crashing and burning in the first show as a champion:
Luckily I didn't. I won the champion group and went on to best male, and finally got BOS in the final.
What a great weekend, what a great show, what great friends and what great competitors. Thanks all.

P.S. Pictures will follow shortly.

P.S.P.S. Albert and Zena, has their own pages on the site now.

P.S.P.S.P.S. More links added to the Links portal, keep sending us links we are missing, Thanks

Another fabulous day in Denmark for the whole family.
Michelle and Alexander placed as no. 1 and 2 in the
“Child and dog competition”. Michelle with me and
Alexander with a beautiful bitch “Ronja” from Nero-Argento.
Thanks Annelise for the loan .

It also went very well for me. I got Club CC, BOB and even BEST IN SHOW. So as always, when I get a great result, I treated the other dogs of the house to burgers at McDonalds.

Carsten had a busy day. Besides handling me, he also handled Nero-Argentos Lotus L’Amabile “Lotus”, and as it was a German judge, Isolde Huber, he did 5 times as much running as usual. And as Carsten “is not build for physical exercise” he was pretty tired when we finally came home to Sweden around midnight. But after a day like this, everyone was more than happy. Thanks everyone for the great support at the show, we really, really appreciate it.

2 in a row!!. Went to Denmark (Odense) for our first International show there.
I got CAC, CACIB and BOB, but as it was Alexanders birthday, (and the whole family was at home), we did not plan to stay for the finals. But after calling the HQ ) we got permission to stay, just for the hell of it, and guess what, it happend again. I got the BIG-3 for the second weekend in a row, what a day. Actually it was a real Schnauzer day. Out of the 4 placed in the Group, we were 2 Minatures and one Giant. Also a lot of the other finals, such as best senior was won by Schnauzers, so quite an unusual day, but quite nice.
So now I am finally old enough to become a champion in Denmark and Norway, so the next shows will be very exiting, but you can be sure to hear about them here.

P.S. In Sweden you have to be 24 month old to become Champion,
so that will be next year, that I get my chance here.

Finally. I have had several shows now, where I was BOB and was in the winner circle in the big ring competing for the 5 spots in Group 2 that gives points for the yearly results, and several times have I been the last of the small dogs left and the last of the Schnauzers and Pinschers. But every time I got the 6th or the 7th spot and no points.
But now I was almost in my own backyard at the International show in Ronneby, Sweden, only 10 km from my house. This was it; I wanted it so bad I could taste it. Any placement would do, please please.
And yes, it did work out this time. I got CAC, CACIB, BOB and finally BIG-3, so we was all very excited as it is pretty rare in Sweden that a B/S Miniature is placed, so we all enjoyed the evening, and as tradition in our family dictates, then the BOB dog treats our other dogs and kids
to burgers at McDonalds, so we all could taste the sweetness of the day.

P.S. “Jenna” and I became friends in less than a week
she is the greatest playmate of all times.
And does she play a mean soccer or what!!!!!!!

After the terrible experience for the dogs in Vadstena with the high temperatures, we installed Aircondition in the Caravan, so that I can hopefully stay cool and wanting to show in the afternoons as well.

Strange things is happening I my house. I have been convinced for quite a long time that my human “dad”, was the leader of the pack. With strong convincement in his voice he has repeatedly said:  “In our house we only want miniatures, and no bitches” and then what happens………
This weekend he could not stand the group pressure any more, so when we came home last night there was one extra dog in the car………
(Nothing strange with that, as we all agree on the fact, that we need at least 4 Miniature Schnauzer around the house), but this was a Standard Schnauzer!!!!!!!! And not only that, it was a female!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A nine month old Black Standard Schnauzer bitch…. Lejacks Leo Cirno Zena “Jenna”.
The kids and their mom and Albert love her, be me and my human dad are a bit more reserved.
Don’t tell the others, but we do see her charm, her great temperament and even though we don’t know much about the Standards, 3 judges have already rewarded her with 3 x CAC a BOB and a BOS, so maybe she is even good looking too ;-))
But I get pi…. when she takes my toys. They are designed for Miniatures not
Standards. She can completely ruin a perfectly good toy in seconds.

Maybe I will get to like her more over time, but I will get back to you on that.
Pictures and pedigree will follow in the near future

This has been a crazy week. Last weekend we had the double show in Halmstad and then we drove directly to the 4 x International show in Vadstena.
I must say that I do not envy the US dogs that do this every week. Normally people think we are crazy to travel to a dog show almost every weekend, but this was 6 shows in 8 days!!!!!
Bathing and drying, bathing and drying, bathing and drying……… I never seemed to stop.
And the temperature was a real killer……. Neither the dogs nor their humans had much fun in such heat.Another thing that a show like this showed, was the different interpretations around the world of the Schnauzer standard. We were 4 dogs that all experienced to be BOB one day and get an Excellent (no placement, no CAC or anything else) on another day. This sends out very mixed signals, but hey, what can you do about it.
As said I got CAC, CACIB and BOB one day and 2 x 2.nd. best males
two other days and then the one day with “only” Excellent.

I finally got my kid brother
(he is only 1 month younger
than me, but that is enough ;-) ).
He is great fun and we love playing all the time.
His name is Nenevale Just William,
but we call him Albert, he is "of course" Black and Silver as me.
He is born in England, 10. February 2002, by breeder Jenny Harrison-Smith.
Albert isn´t a show-stopper like me, but he is so cute and have a lovely head and perfect temperament and we all love him. So firstly, he is my friend and playmate, but he is also going to some shows with me, from time to time.
Albert has been at our place for 2 weeks now and he has already learned that I am the "Boss" but I do sometimes get a bit jealous, when he wants to speak with our humans. But I have to get used to the fact that we are two now, and it is so great to have him here, so I guess i can share with him after all.

First a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of my friends. I hope you all will get a year with lot of fun times, which I sure plan to have. Thanks for all of your help and support in 2002. I look forward to see you all in 2003.

My humans have decided that I must have a fresh coat, so I am going to my next show the 4. January 2003 in Göteborg, and then I will have a longer period were I only will play and have fun at home with my family.
We have planed the next show around April or May. Then I will be ready for the summer season of shows.

It is so difficult to find a kid brother because my humans also must find him pretty and smart. There is so many fine dogs around, but we haven't found the right one yet. I will get back to you, as soon as we know more

Yahoo. I decided to get a kid brother to help me fight all of our cats. So I have given my humans the task of finding me a little brother. I don’t care too much about his color, but of course he have to be a Miniature Schnauzer, be strong, playful, smart and cute. I also hope we find one that can join me at the dog shows.

We are now looking at the most interesting puppies around, and will be sure to get back to you as soon as we find him. We will also write a bit about the search in “Absolute beginner” to let you know about our experiences with finding the right puppy.
